Light Brush

The series of works opens up to the viewer a world of freedom, gentle halftones and sharp contrasts. Here, the work with the line becomes almost as compositionally important as the work with the spot. And the combination of wet-on-wet and multi-layer painting techniques creates a sense of depth and lightness of the image. All the paintings in the series are an experiment in which I explore new technical methods.
Anna Kirsanova, Contemporary Artist
To reach this state, I detach from external reality while remaining fully focused on the subject – allowing its image to pass through me and transform into something distilled and expressive. Spontaneity and chance play a vital role in this process. Even when I attempt to control movement and the balance of water, brush, and ink – the materials behave unpredictably. We become equal partners in the act of creation.

Yet spontaneity also demands precision, clarity, and self-mastery – without them, there would be only chaos. Each work is created in a single breath.
Light Brush is a series of airy, light, transparent works. It exists on a fine threshold between realism and abstraction – capturing the essence of a fleeting moment.

Simplicity and clarity of composition, detail without excess. Images complete in their emptiness. Understatement that resonates more strongly than words. This is what I strive for.
